Our Ethos
At HorseFit, we believe that caring for horses isn't just a task-it's a way of life. You're not justmeeting a horse's basic needs, you're investing in a deeper bond and a lifestyle rooted incommunity, connection & traditions. We aim to help you along the way by providing solutionsthat work in harmony with the horse's natural movement, that complement their conformation, and that reflect your commitment. Products for horse owners who value quality, function, andunderstated beauty. Becausegood tack should wear in, not out. Therapy products should offertrue, measurable benefit, and turnouts should be high-performance without the bulk, refined butnever fussy.
We believe the best products are the ones you don't have to think about, because they simply work.

Our Story
For ten years, HorseFit was proudly owned and operated by founder Gillian Meacham. It was through her work the trusted Horseware Ireland brand was brought to New Zealand. Gilly's top-level eventing experience, both in NZ and abroad, gave her invaluable insight into the needs ofequestrians. From a rural property on the outskirts of Auckland, HorseFit served customers across the country. A place where horses in the paddocks wore the very products sold off the shelves, and a friendly cuppa and chat about equestrian life was always welcome.
Since taking over HorseFit in late 2023, we have been growing HorseFit's unique boutique roots in the rolling rural hills of Northland, keeping with its previous legacy as a family-owned and operated business. We're proud to continue nurturing the organic customer relationships built over the past decade, while welcoming new clients with personalised service, genuine care, and a commitment to truly understanding your needs.
We believe the best products are the ones you don't have to think about, because they simply work.

Kim
As a small child living on our farm in the prairies of central Alberta, Canada, I loved nothing more than to be with the animals. We had quarter horses for working the cattle, a pony or two, the odd horse rustically being encouraged to jump over bales & barrels because my dad was looking for their hidden talents. There were retired racehorses, brood mares & foals. My earliest memory is sitting in a western saddle, holding onto the horn and being mesmerised by the horses' movement, the smell of leather tack & horsehair. Absolute joy.
Fast forward to today where my conscientious tendencies can be put to good use having been provided a wonderful opportunity to operate a boutique business as part of a welcoming community of extraordinary equestrians, horse owners and small business owners. I wouldn't wish to do this any other place in the world!
